Huskies Finish Season with Huge Win
Monday, December 7th, 2009The Washington Huskies wanted to finish this season with a bang so that the Pac-10 would notice that they may be for real in the coming years. After yesterday’s 42-10 win over #19 California they may have done just that. No, the Huskies will not be attending a bowl game this year but to turn around from 0-12 to 5-7 in one year is great improvement and a huge majority of this Washington football team will be back for next year. This was the Huskies second win over a ranked team this season as they beat USC earlier in the year while the Trojans were still ranked. Jake Locker had one of his best games of the season against Cal completing 19 of 23 passes for 248 yards and 3 TD’s. Locker got it done on the ground too rushing 14 times for 77 yards and 2 TD’s. Washington WR Jermaine Kearse also had a big day bringing in 7 catches for 147 yards and 1 TD. The Huskies closed out this season with a 30-0 win over Washington State and a 42-10 win over Cal. The Huskies are definitely going to be a force in the Pac-10 again and possibly as soon as next season.
